Bill Condon and Matt McGregor sold a site on a hillside that was previously used as a gravel pit on Sumner Ridge in Sumner, WA to Bertch Capital. The perception in the marketplace was that buildings on this hillside would never lease because of the steep grade leading up to the buildings. They convinced Bertch Capital to build two 110,000-square-foot industrial buildings on speculative basis to attract a tenant. The talk in the market was that these buildings were going to take a long time to lease. They blitzed the market and were able to lease the first building directly to a client of theirs, Automatic Products, on a 10-year deal before construction had even started. The success of Sumner Ridge continued when they pre-leased the other remaining building to a 3PL company called CTE Logistics on a long-term lease and brought the Sumner Ridge park to 100% occupancy before the buildings were completed.

Another way they have gained business is through their International Industrial Advisors podcast. They secured a 1M SF listing in Tacoma, WA by doing a podcast about why to hire them. They helped their client Port Logistics Group with a promotion of their business related with safety protocols for COVID-19. Their episode on First year in brokerage was their number 1 most viewed podcast and we receive phone calls from new brokers from inside and outside Colliers multiple times a month. It has created one on one calls on how to innovate and how to be different with brokers and clients. The team is able to release episodes that are timely with what is going on such as with COVID-19 and how it was affecting supply chain.
