  • 45 transactions

Senior Managing Directors Paul Vetter and Andrew Mays, Senior Director Judy MacManus and Director Matthew White of Berkadia’s Atlanta office led a number of notable transactions in 2020 on behalf of sellers. The team’s 2020 consisted of more than $791 million in deals across 45 transactions.

Notable transactions for the team included Ashford 75, a 416-unit multifamily community in Smyrna that closed in October 2020 as well as Legacy Apartment Homes, a 700-unit garden-style multifamily property in Atlanta closed in December 2020.

The team also transacted on a number of 1031 exchange deals in 2020. The team worked with a client wanting to pursue a value-add strategy on a property in Atlanta. The client did not have the available funds on hand, which necessitated a 1031 exchange from a combination of properties in Seattle along with a local Atlanta asset. The team ended up going under contract on the up leg with substantial hard money before awarding either of the down legs. The team transacted a day before the contract’s outside close date with no option to extend.
