Over the course of an 18-year career, Brian Kling has amassed an industrial client base that depends on his expertise. That’s borne out by Kling’s year-in, year-out consistency in completing deals that rank among the largest in the Chicago area. Aside from deal flow, Kling’s career has been marked by remarkable achievements along the way including: the youngest professional in Colliers history to be named a principal and be chosen to serve on the firm’s National Industrial Advisory Group and North American Logistics and Transportation Group—both honors reserved for a select group of Colliers’ top-performing U.S. industrial brokers.
In the Chicago area, Kling is a noted big-box industrial expert concentrating on the West/Southwest suburban submarkets. Despite the headwinds facing real estate professionals in 2020, Kling completed 38 lease transactions totaling 5.6 million square feet and valued at more than $185 million.
Two of the 10 largest industrial leases in the entire Chicago marketplace - a one-million-square-foot lease to CJ Logistics and a 1.3-million-square-foot lease to Scotts - both on behalf of Venture One and both at Crossroads 55 in Channahon, were arranged by Kling. In addition, he closed one of the five largest transactions in the O’Hare market in 2020: a 228,000-square-foot lease on behalf of James Campbell Co. to Ceva at 1333-1347 S. Mt. Prospect Rd. in Des Plaines, IL.
