The Mid-Atlantic investment sales team joined NorthMarq in August 2020, and despite both the pandemic and moving to a new firm, the team had notable successes. Mike Marshall, Wink Ewing, and Ryan Rilee all came to NorthMarq from different firms, but joined to create a dynamic team covering multifamily investment sales from the Washington D.C. metro to the Hampton Roads, VA. submarkets.

The team’s most notable transaction in 2020 was the $167 million sale of the Waverton Virginia Portfolio. The four-property portfolio, located in the Richmond and Hampton Roads markets of Virginia, contained a total of 1,063 units. NorthMarq represented the seller, Waverton Associates Inc., a Portsmouth Virginia based developer in the transaction. The buyer was CAPREIT, a large regional investor with a substantial presence in the Virginia markets.

In total, the team brokered $144 million in deals during 2020 across four transactions.
